Velvet Kiss Volume 3 Licensed!

It’s been a while! Sorry for the scarce updates recently, but we’ve been working day and night getting Velvet Kiss Volume 2 and Love on the Job Volume 1 finished and ready for print.
Before I get into that, I want to announce that Velvet Kiss Volume 3 is now licensed by Project-H! They’re also indicating that Volume 4 might not be too far away either. I remember when the first two volumes were licensed, some people shrugged it off saying the full series would never come out. Fortunately Velvet Kiss has seen surprising success so far as a licensed product and things are looking good for the future. We’ll be performing the translation and typesetting for Volume 3 as well. As with Volume 2, I’ll be completely re-translating it and making sure the dialog is as smooth as possible. This series deserves nothing less!
Volume 1 is now officially released and we’re getting word that people are getting their copies. It’s still a little odd to think that something we worked on is actually on paper somewhere, but cool at the same time. Unfortunately there’s been a little bit of a mess with Amazon, as they keep moving the release date around. Project-H says that they’ve already sent Amazon their copies so hopefully that means they’ll ship out soon. Could you drop us a line if you ordered through Amazon once your copy shows up?
As I write this, we’re up to our eyeballs in Harumi Chihiro material, although there’s certainly worse places to be. I think you’ll see a further refinement in visual quality in Velvet Kiss Volume 2 and Love on the Job (previously known as Koi wo Suru) as we get more used to working with this particular print standard. We’ll be promoting Love on the Job more as it gets closer to release, but I’m really excited to work on it from the beginning and give it the treatment it’s always deserved. It’s gonna be far better than what’s been floating around before.
Ziggy’s gonna have an announcement coming up sometime soon, so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, if you’re looking to pick up Velvet Kiss Volume 1, here are some places you can order it:
Catch you next time!

november 13 was probably the day when amaon begin their shipping for velvet kiss 2 pre order…
Yo, just dropping a line to say that I order the first volume from Amazon, and it showed up, =D
Gonna get the next ones for there too! Thanks ^_~ xx
Its seems like its all of the stores that will be selling them are pushing back the release date doesn’t make an sense what so ever oh well will be pre-ordering it when I have the cash as well
Great news, I’ll order a copy as soon as a have some cash. Glad to see the project doing so well for you and for the sake of the manga.
When my Amazon preorder switched to an “estimated” delivery date of Jan 13 of 2013 I was baffled to be completely honest. Thanks for the list of places to get it from, I will switch my order right away ^_^
Also, while I realize that it is late in the day, I hope you all had a happy fourth!
Dys: The Japanese Volume 4 has some short additional bonus comics at the end. They’re similar to the first 3 volumes so they’re just small extras and not any continuation of the plot. By all indications, the story ends at the end of chapter 32.
billy: Ziggy’s going to go into detail with that in her upcoming post. We hope it’ll be up in the next week or so. Our “releases,” such as they are for print, take probably 10-20 times as much work as previous one-chapter releases so we don’t have a lot of stuff to fill in the cracks at the moment.
I got a question I know that soba scans has become velvet kiss central, I was wondering is soba scans doing releases or will you guys close soba scans, because every other post is about buy velvet kiss or pre order velvet kiss , are we going to get any releases or is soba pretty much dead, just wondering its been a while since last release give or take a month or so, I bought a copy of velvet kiss, so if i buy another copy will I see another release non related to velvet kiss or do you have to love velvet kiss which honestly is not the best series on soba but its has its good and bad points, I hope my comment is not censored for not being for velvet kiss fans but would appreciate seeing stuff unrelated to velvet kiss.
Hi will there be an extra story in Vol 4 or the story will just end the way it was? Any bonus art of material etc?
I don’t see any reason why they couldn’t license Cutie Lips eventually. One idea I had is that a licensor could trim out a few chapters and include her first short series, Amai Koe, instead. It’s never been released in a physical volume before. It’s worth suggesting to Project-H.
I got in Velvet Kiss Volume 1 quite a while back, and I ordered it from Rightstuf, will be doing the same for Volumes 2-4. It was awesome to get in Volume 1 and reread the official version. You guys did a great job with it and I found it easier to understand what was happening in the early parts then your unofficial release.
Can’t wait to check out the improvements you do with Love On The Job.
(er, I meant included in the licensing deal, not, like, in the books themselves)
If their web site is to be believed, RightStuf still hasn’t got their copies.
Is there any chance of Cutie Lips being licensed? I was hoping it might get included with the later volumes of Velvet Kiss.
