Forty chapters! Wow. This time at the ring we see Ryoma’s domestic situation grow even dicier as he attempts to make sense of recent revelations. He even tries his hand at negotiation, with mixed results…

Apparently Mediafire has been in a purging mood recently and it’s taken down a lot of our download links. I’m not entirely sure what caused it but I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that someone’s been putting the screws to them given what’s happened over the last few months. We’ll try and repair the various download links around the site when we can. Really, though, it may be the end of an era for a particular style of file hosting and there might not be a permanent solution. Time will tell.

I’ll take this chance to do a few general series updates as well, now that I’m back from a road trip. The remaining Ring x Mama chapters are in the production queue. Velvet Kiss 32 is coming along and it shouldn’t be too much longer. I’ve been trying to claw the last Hana no Iro chapter out of editing for a long time and I think we’ll be able to get it out and finished in the next few weeks. FTH has told us that they don’t have the manpower to do Gaiakitan anymore so we’re gonna try and bring it all in-house. The next Koimoku chapter is in the finishing stages so that should be out pretty soon. Kanojo de Ippai is getting pushed back a little more as I have a couple pretty massive translation projects which have come in, but once we announce them I think you’ll be happy to see why.

Fame is kind of a funny thing. Sometimes you end up developing a bigger reputation just because you had a reputation in the first place. Why, just ask Ryoma! This one was a pretty funny chapter to translate.

Also, we’ve had a few people ask about Koimoku recently, so I wanted to give an update. I completed the script for chapter 8 in early November and sent it off to FTH for editing. Last I heard it’s in progress, but I honestly don’t know if it’s very far along or if it’s a high priority for them. The new Comic Valkyrie just came out with two new chapters, which I’m going to start translating soon. That’s about all I can do, I’m afraid.

Hey Soba-fans! I owe you all my deepest apologies as to how long this has taken to come out. I’m completely to blame for it  x3
I’ve been absolutely swamped with real life responsibilites, plus on top of that working on multiple things at once with Soba-Scans.

We officially started to recruit editors into Soba-Scans in order to pick up the pace on releases, because I’m causing everything to bottle neck in the end so I could really use some help.

First of all – holy crap did I get a lot of responses! Not even a year ago we did the same thing posting on the blog for an editor, and I got maybe 5 responses – I’m still getting several every hour now! I can’t even keep up with all the emails, and I’m just blown away that so many of you follow our blog and pay attention on facebook It means so much to us!

I apologize if I haven’t responded to your email, it’s just been so difficult to keep up with all of them at this point. However all the responses have motivated me to look into a project in the future with Youtube. I think I’ll make video guides on how to edit and make it so it’s a bit of a reference guide to people who want to learn how to edit. I’ve received so many emails from people who don’t have experience (how I <3 all the ambition) but really want to learn and get into the scanlation scene. So I think I’ll dedicate a Youtube channel for anyone who’s interested that way even if you’re not editing for Soba-Scans, you’ll at least be able to learn the skills for the group and impress any other group you’re fond of and possibly even join a different scanlation team

I have chosen my editors, so I apologize if I haven’t gotten back to you – but the positions are officially filled and I’m very proud of the progress they’re making too. Thank you again everyone for expressing your interest in editing with Soba-Scans, I couldn’t believe the sheer amount of response I got!

Anyway, onward to the actual release!

Also, I know the last post people had tons of questions about the editing qualifications and what that entailed, however what do you all think of Mi-chan? We’re very proud to have her here and plan to do a lot with her. What all would you like to see from her? I plan on allowing her to have her own blog too, and eventually she’ll be the girl to go to when donating. We’re technically not supposed to have donations here since it’s adult material and we’re lucky we haven’t gotten flagged yet (knock on wood) so we plan on having it with her on a different site that’s SWF. Any domain name suggestions? What would you like to see there?
